Creating a Type User

 
Type user accounts are used to load and play dictation. Type users are typically arranged into groups (Pools).
 
Creating a Type User

Click the Type tab

The Type tab is used to create new Lexacom Type users.

Click the New button

Click the New button to create a new user.

Enter a Name for the User

3. Enter a Name for the User
The name for the user will be visible to other users in your Lexacom system; it is recommended that this follows the same convention as for existing users.

Enter a Login for the User

The Login (username) for the user is used to log into Lexacom.

Set Documents Create on Load

5. Set Documents Create on Load
If set, Lexacom will create a document (using Microsoft Word, if installed) when a new dictation is opened. This dictation will be stored within Lexacom and will be reopened whenever the dictation is loaded. Change the drop-down menu to the desired value:
  • Always - Lexacom will always create a document when loading a dictation (that does not already have a linked document)
  • Never - Lexacom will not create a document when loading a dictation
  • Prompt user to choose - Lexacom will display a prompt message to ask the user to choose whether a document is created

Set Autorewind Time

6. Set Autorewind Time
The Autorewind time is the number of seconds Lexacom Type will automatically rewind when the user resumes playing the dictation after pausing, as an aid to typing.

Set Clinical System Integration

7. Set Clinical System Integration
To allow the user to integrate with one or more clinical system, click the Enable Integrations button, and in the window that appears tick the 'Enabled' checkbox for each clinical system present that the user will use.
File Document on Dispatch: If using the Document Editor feature and Clinical System Integration with SystmOne, Vision or EMIS Web, if this option is checked the typed document will be saved in the patient's records when the dictation is Dispatched.
 
Select Subject on Loading: If using Clinical System Integration with SystmOne, Vision or EMIS Web, if this option is checked the corresponding patient record will be loaded when the user loads a dictation.

Set Forwarding Permissions

8. Set Forwarding Permissions
Choose services to which the user will be able to forward dictations.

Click the Save button

9. Click the Save button
Click the Save button to save the user profile.
 
A message will appear to say that the user's password has been set to password.
 
Once complete, Add the User to Pools of which they should be a member.
