Creating a Talk User

 
Talk user accounts are used to make and send dictation. Talk users may be configured to send to individual Lexacom Type users, groups (Pools) of more than one Type user, third-party transcription services or voice recognition services.
Creating a Talk User

Click the Talk tab

1. Click the Talk tab
The Talk tab is used to create new Lexacom Talk users.

Click the New button

Click the New button to create a new user.

Enter a Name for the User

3. Enter a Name for the User
The name for the user will be visible to other users in your Lexacom system; it is recommended that this follows the same convention as for existing users.

Enter a Login for the User

4. Enter a Login for the User
The Login (username) for the user is used to log into Lexacom.

Set Speech Recognition options

5. Set Speech Recognition options
If using Lexacom Echo, Select the Speech Recognition options for the user, either:
 
No speech recognition - no speech recognition available to the user
Front-end only - front-end (direct voice-to-text) recognition only
Deferred recognition only - deferred (dictation sent to server for conversion) recognition only
Front-end and deferred recognition - both types of speech recognition
 
Speech recognition options will only appear if speech recognition has been enabled for the site.

Set the Default Priority

6. Set the Default Priority
The Default Priority is the priority that will be assigned to all new dictations created by this Talk user; the user will have the option to change the priority on a dictation if required.

Set the Integration Settings

7. Set the Integration Settings
To allow the user to integrate with one or more clinical system, click the Enable Integrations button, and in the window that appears tick the 'Enabled' checkbox for each clinical system present that the user will use.
File Document on Dispatch: If using the Document Editor feature and Clinical System Integration with SystmOne, Vision or EMIS Web, if this option is checked the typed document will be saved in the patient's records when the dictation is Dispatched.
 
Select Subject on Loading: If using Clinical System Integration with SystmOne, Vision or EMIS Web, if this option is checked the corresponding patient record will be loaded when the user loads a dictation.
 
Retrieve Subject on Record: If using Clinical System Integration with any clinical system, if this option is checked Lexacom will automatically attempt to import the patient details from the clinical system when starting a new recording and if no other Reference details have been entered.

Set the Default Send to Service

8. Set the Default Send to Service
Click into the drop-down menu and select the Default Send To service. This is the default destination service for new dictations.

Set the Default Return to Service

9. Set the Default Return to Service
Click into the drop-down menu and select the Default Return To service. When sending to Lexacom Scribe this is the service to which the dictations will be returned after being transcribed by the service. In addition to all services, there is the option for the dictations to be returned to the Author.

Set Optional Services

10. Set Optional Services
Tick the checkboxes for any services that are required as additional options for the Send To or Return To service for the dictations made by this Talk User.

Click the Save button

Click the Save button to save the changes.
